Long Island, and I'm still there today living in Central Islip
Queens College, including year abroad program in Germany
Also, I'm a former faculty member at FIT in NYC, taught Media 101.
First job in advertising:
Ries Cappiello Colwell which subsequently became Trout & Ries.
There were famous at the time for introducing the concept of 'positioning'.
How long at BCA:
20 never boring years
Most satisfying aspect of time at BCA:
Making the pivot from pure media planning and buying
to agency administration to being de facto Account Director.
As said, never a dull moment.
Favorite working mantra:
More a rant. Pick up the dang phone! Go with human interaction over emails any time you can. Think this is the key to BCA's good relationships with the media, and our lengthy tenure with clients like SAA.
BCA today versus yesteryear:
Looking back, the move to Rye Brook in 2011. This proved to be a win-win for both clients and staff. It's very rewarding to make technology work for us, rather than being our undoing. Of course, it's a tad demanding as you're never really off.
Favorite client-related travel:
I've been blessed in this regard. Winter meetings in the Caribbean. Several trips to Southern Africa – one leading agents on a FAM safari. Lots of great memories around the globe.
Little-known fact about you:
If you follow me on FB, it's not that much of a secret. Life outside the office centers around my niece and her family in North Carolina, and my dear dad, Heinz, in Florida, a first generation German. Prost!
